A. Send get-well cards to members who are ill and to the family of members who have died. This includes:
1) shopping for a supply of get-well and condolence cards
2) purchasing first class postage stamps as needed
3) checking for death notices in local papers
4) writing and mailing cards in a timely manner
5) keeping receipts for all expenses for stamps and cards
6) giving receipts of total amount spent to the Treasurer for reimbursement and
7) notifying the person responsible for writing the monthly newsletter so that members are informed.

B. In addition to checking the local obituaries for member’s names, the LWREA membership is a good source for information relating to members.

C. Send a report to the Newsletter chairperson each month if there is a death of a member or if members or members’ spouses are ill.

D. Suggestion: Keep the supplies together in a box or basket so they are readily available when needed. Include a copy of the current handbook for quick reference of addresses for members.
